Historical Curiosities
Capodimonte porcelain was born in 1743 on the initiative of Charles of Bourbon and Maria Amalia of Saxony, eager to create a factory that could compete with the renowned Meissen and Sèvres porcelain. Thus was born the Real Fabbrica di Capodimonte, located inside the Royal Palace of Capodimonte, it quickly became famous for its unique manufacturing technique, which did not involve the use of kaolin, thus giving the works a softer consistency and a milky white color.
Porcelain roses, in particular, are one of the distinctive symbols of Capodimonte production, appreciated throughout the world for their delicacy and perfection. Each piece is a tribute to the skill of the master craftsmen who, even today, follow traditional techniques to create true works of art.
