The double-headed snake ring from Pompeii is inspired by the original 1st century ring BC, kept at the Archaeological Museum of Naples.

Made of 925 silver, this ring represents the powerful symbolism of the serpent, considered an emblem of protection, wisdom and regeneration. The two heads of the serpent were particularly appreciated for representing the duality of life and death, as well as the continuity of the life cycle. Finely sculpted, they add a touch of charm and mystery to the jewel.

Historical Curiosities

In Roman religion, the serpent-shaped Genius was the benevolent guardian spirit of the fate of families but also of individuals.

In ancient Pompeii, the snake was venerated as a symbol of rebirth and immortality, associated with the god Aesculapius, the god of medicine and healing.

This symbolism made the serpent a very popular protective amulet among the Romans.
