This statuette is a 3D replica of the work "The Librarian" created in 1566 by Giuseppe Arcimboldo. The original work is today preserved in Stockholm in Skokloster Castle, Sweden. This is a unique work of art, inspired by one of the most innovative and symbolic masterpieces of the Renaissance.

This reproduction is handcrafted and painted by expert and qualified craftsmen. Made with high quality materials, the statue faithfully reproduces the surreal vision of the artist, with the careful details of the pages, the spines of the books and the objects that make up the character's face.

The allegorical head of the Librarian is made up of books, large and small volumes, bookmarks and covers, creating an original and witty figure. Like most of Arcimboldo's works (the famous composite heads), it is a depiction made from assemblies of objects

The 3D sculpture allows you to fully appreciate the artist's complexity and ingenuity, offering a fascinating journey into the painter's mind.

Historical Curiosities

Giuseppe Arcimboldo, a 16th century Milanese painter, is famous for his composed portraits, eccentric works that represent human faces created through thematic objects such as fruit, vegetables, flowers and books. "The Librarian" is one of his most famous paintings, created around 1566 and considered a satire on the academic world and intellectuals. Arcimboldo created this portrait using books and parchments as symbols of knowledge, but also as an ironic criticism of the pedantry and formalism of the scholars of the time.

Today, "The Librarian" is recognized as a masterpiece of Mannerism and a work ahead of its time, a symbol of Arcimboldo's creativity and humor.
